KANIKA KAPOOR AND HER COVID-19 STORY

The novel Coronavirus outbreak is wreaking havoc globally. While enough preventive health measures have been suggested by health experts, the people across the world are in state of panic. Amid COVID-19 outbreak all over the world, many known names including Tom Hanks, Kanika Kapoor and Kristofer Hivju have tested coronavirus positive and are isolation. Now, Britain’s Prince Charles too has tested positive and is now self-isolating in royal residence Balmoral in Scotland.

Ever since the news came out, netizens are trolling Kanika Kapoor for infecting Prince Charles with Coronavirus. Few pictures of Kanika Kapoor meeting Prince Charles is doing the rounds on social media in which the duo is seen shaking hands and conversing together. The pictures are going viral with claims that Kanika passed the virus to Prince Charles.

Singer Kanika Kapoor recently revealed that she had tested positive for COVID-19 and added that she was “doing okay”. It was soon revealed that she had attended numerous social gatherings in Lucknow despite being asked to remain in quarantine and this prompted the police to book her for negligence.

Kanika Kapoor hit headlines last week when she revealed of being tested positive for Covid-19. The popular singer had returned to India earlier this month, and not being aware of her condition, Kanika had attended a few social gatherings. According to a news portal, state surveillance have traced and connected over 266 people who may have come in contact with Kannika Kapoor. Reportedly more than 60 samples were taken and all of them have tested negative for Covid-19.

Kanika Kapoor has been provided the best that is possible in a hospital. She must cooperate as a patient and not throw tantrums of a star. She is being provided a Gluten-Free Diet from Hospital Kitchen,” director of the hospital RK Dhiman said.
Kanika is currently undergoing treatment at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) in Lucknow. For a third time she has tested positive for Coronavirus and SGPGIMS Director Prof RK Dhiman had stated her treatment will continue till the time she tests negative for Covid-19.

Kanika had arrived from London and stayed at Hotel Taj and attended parties instead of quarantining herself for 14 days.
She had hidden her travel details from the authorities. She also attended a party which was attended by several politicians, socialites and businessmen including former Rajashthan CM Vasundhara Raje and parliamentarian Dushyant Singh.

All of those who had attended the parties tested negative for the novel coronavirus.
She tested positive for the virus on Sunday for the second time after her family members objected to the first report.

Earlier, Lucknow police booked Kanika on charges of negligence for attending various social events in the city despite being infected with coronavirus and having been instructed by the authorities to isolate herself at her home.

She has been booked under Sections 188, 269, and 270 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Sarojini Nagar police station in the city. The FIR was lodged based on a complaint filed by the chief medical officer (CMO) of Lucknow.

The governments of quite a few states have closed all theatres to prevent large gatherings, thus trying to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. Many feel this unprecedented situation is not “best for business”. Coming back to Kanika, her action shave evoked mixed reactions with the Hindi film fraternity. While the likes of Raveena Tandon and Sona Mohapatra have criticised the artist, Sonam Kapoor has made it clear that she feels it is not right to target her.

Kanika recently deleted the Instagram post where she had revealed about testing positive for Coronavirus. In the post the ‘Baby Doll’ singer had advised her followers to take all the necessary precaution. “At this stage I would like to urge you all to practice self isolation and get tested if you have the signs. I am feeling ok, like a normal flu and a mild fever, however we need to be sensible citizens at this time and think of all around us.
