The personnel of the borders security forces that have been tested positive for COVID 19 is 85 in number, thus taking the total number of positive cases among them to a total of 154 till the time being.
These were the 60 troops that were deployed for the sake of law and order near the
Chandni mahal and Jamia area in Delhi. Out of these troops, 6 were from the escort team of the inter-ministerial central team who went to West Bengal to have a look at the measures being followed by the people for the containment of the coronavirus.
Among the 85 infected personnel, 37 are from Tripura frontier of force. The troops must have been infected while performing operational and essential duties. initially, there were 69 cases from the Borders security force till Tuesday and now has been up to 154.
About 2.5 lakhs of the personnel have been deployed to guard the borders of India with
Bangladesh and Pakistan. A spokesperson said that the headquarters, whose two floors
were sealed from the last two days are now in function.
