AICTE BUILDING SANITIZED AFTER A WOMAN EMPLOYED TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID-19

The All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) recently had an entire wing sanitized after a female employee tested positive for the coronavirus. The report was given by a senior official. According to the official, the female employee was a contractual employee and all staff who came in contact with her have had to isolate themselves.

As a result of the employee contracting the virus a large wing of the AICTE building has been sanitized to ensure the curbing of the virus so it does not spread. “The woman was working as a data entry operator who had being called to office as she dealt with the wing looking after the prime minister’s scholarship for Jammu and Kashmir students”. The building that had to be sanitized is in south Delhi Vasant Kunj.

According to AICTE even though the employee has been quarantined scholarship still continues. The incident happened two or three days ago. Recently in the East Delhi Municipal Corporation, a 52-year-old woman who was a sanitation worker also died and the doctors suspect it might be due to coronavirus.

The late woman’s husband later confirmed that she contacted the virus. The former mayor of South Delhi Municipal Corporation Narendra Chawla said “Our workers are risking their lives every day. The least they deserve is a proper health insurance cover”. According to the municipal health, official steps have been taken such as spraying disinfectant in and around homes of an infected person.
