Celebrating fifteen years of the crime action movie ‘Apaharan’ directed by the very talented Prakash Jha, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn, on 2 December 2020 reminisced his memories of the movie. The Tanhaji actor took to his Instagram handle and shared a clip from the film and captioned it “The cast, the plot, the intensity in characters made this movie a memorable one…Celebrating #15YearsOfApaharan”.
The storyline of the movie is of a complex relationship and clashing ideologies between a father (played by Mohan Agashe) and son (Ajay Devgn) set in the backdrop of the kidnapping business in the state of Bihar. The actor was seen playing an honest undergraduate who wanted to join the police force. The box office collection was average and it was declared semi Hit at the Indian box-office. The Prakash Jha directorial also starred Nana Patekar and Bipasha Basu in the lead roles and also won national awards for best screenplay, dialogue. Veteran actor Nana Patekar also received an award for portraying the best villain in this film.
