Khaali Peeli is a 2020 Hindi language masala movie which is directed by Maqbool Khan and jointly produced by Ali Abbas Zafar, Zee studios, Himanshu Kishan Mehra. The film stars Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Pandey with Jaideep Ahlawat. Written by Yash Keswani and Sima Agarwal.
Plot – The story revolves around the childhood sweethearts Pooja (Ananya) and Blackie (Ishaan) who were separated. Fast forward now Pooja is prostitute due to certain circumstances and he escaped the brothel turning 18 with the bag of stolen money. She bumps into blackie who is now a Bombay taxi driver. He agrees to drive her to her freedom in exchange of hefty amount which leads to a series of chase and escape.
Initially, the film was set to go on the floor from September but due to the COVID – 19 the release date was pushed back to October. On October 2nd the film was released on OTT platform (ZEE) and was shown in the open air (Gurgaon) through the film received the good response but would achieve good IMDB ratings (1.5). Due to unlock 5 guidelines, Opening of cinema halls to commence from October 15th, the film is all start to release on October 16th in theatres near you. Khaali Peeli will be the first to be released in the theatre after the last release (Angrezzi Medium).
