Badrinath Yatra to not begin before June 30th

Badrinath is a holy town and a Nagar panchayat in Chamoli district in Uttarakhand, India.

It is one of four sites of char Dham pilgrimage and got its name from the temple Badrinath devotee to preserver Lord Vishnu. The peak season for Badrinath Dham yatra usually starts in May and stays till October.

The Badrinath is referred to as Badari or Badarikaashram in Hindu scriptures. And also famous for the traditional Garhwal wooden architecture.

But in the circumstances of covid pandemic, all the holy places and darshan are put on hold. Health infrastructure is poor at Badrinath and starting the yatra is not a good choice.

Though portals are opened at 4:30 on 15th of may and prayers were performed on behalf of prime minister Narendra Modi by two representatives including head protest.

With unlock 1.0 Devasthanam board has completed the preparation for char Dham yatra like marking circles at a distance of 2 metres for following social distancing and only government guidelines are awaited to start. Things like a face mask, sanitizers would be necessary for all the devotees. Arrangements were also made for scanning of all bhatks at different places.

The head purohit at Badrinath temple Rawal Ishwari Prasad Nambudin appealed to state government comes after CM Trivendra Singh Rawat said the administration would be considered reopening of Chardham with a limited number of devotees.

Currently, arrangements are made for 1800 devotees at Badrinath. But there are 1k+ covid 19 cases in Uttarakhand, taking this into consideration a memorandum has been signed by 24 people including head purohit for the suspension of restarting char Dham yatra and was sent to Chief Minister.

Now devotees will soon get the benefit of online darshan and pooja facility. Respecting the feelings of all the bhakts arrangements have been made for online darshan. One could get the online char Dham darshan in temple and audio plays facility directly from home.
