Director Gitanjali Rao’s animated romance film Bombay Rose is an India-based movie streaming on Netflix worldwide. It depicts few of the many sensitive issues like inter-faith love, economic migration and child labor.
Kamala ,a young girl and a flower-seller by day works as a bar dancer at night, along with her school-going sister Tara are orphans who fled away from their hometown and settled in Mumbai. A young and unemployed Salim Khan, who was orphaned by militancy, falls for Kamala. It also gives a brief insight to a couple more complicated love stories.
The visuals of this film are the most incredible, as every frame is individually painted and animated by the Mumbai-based Paperboat Animation Studios. It took as long as 18 months and more than 50 artists to complete this beautiful digital masterpiece.
