Arvind Kejriwal told the media that currently, Delhi is the first state in the country to go for the trials of plasma therapy. Also, the healthcare providers have performed plasma trials on 29 people and effective results can be seen. It has been observed that two things happen in corona; firstly the level of oxygen goes down and secondly is that the respiration rate gets increases resulting in abnormally rapid breathing.

It has been noticed that if the plasma therapy will be given then surely it will help in the increase in the level of oxygen and also the respiration level will decrease.” Over the past few days, 34 patients who were admitted at the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital got survived out of 35 Covid-19 patients who were been treated by using the plasma therapy as revealed to the media by the Delhi government.

Delhi government has requested the media to start the campaigns to encourage more people to donate plasma so that it can be used to save the lives of other Covid-19 patients. Apart from that, the Delhi government declared that a helpline number will also be set up to sort out the queries related to the donation of plasma, and also transportation arrangements will be made for those who are ready to donate the plasma to save the lives of other people. The Delhi government got approval for conducting plasma therapy at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital, Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospitals, and Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also told the media by using plasma therapy it helps in reducing the number of deaths that were happening because of Covid-19 and also helps various moderate coronavirus patients to recover soon therefore not letting the situation to get worsen. The procedure of plasma therapy allows the transfer of plasma received from the whole blood of recovered Covid-19 patients to treat seriously ill patients. It has been stated that as an individual can donate the blood every three months similarly the plasma donation can be done every ten days.

Government has taken a few steps to stop the decrease in the number of coronavirus cases such as increasing the number of beds in the hospitals, simultaneously performing tests, also supporting those patients who are been home isolated by providing pulse oximeters, therefore, conducting the door-to-door survey and using plasma therapy to treat the patients. Also, they have started screening by doing a survey that allows the government to know about the exact status of corona patients.

In addition to this, Kejriwal told to the media that they have bought 4000 oxygen concentrators device which concentrates the oxygen from a gas supply by selectively removing nitrogen to supply an oxygen-enriched product gas stream to treat the patients and on the daily basis, 20000 tests are been conducted to streamline the existing scenario. Now, there has been seen in a decrease in the number of beds compared to the last few weeks.
