In this post-apocalyptic hellscape, who has joined the Abbotts? Obviously, you can’t just make a carbon copy of a successful original and expect fans to show up. Isn’t that something Hollywood hasn’t done before?
Apart from the sarcasm, Krasinski’s sequel features a few new characters, some of whom you may recognize. Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders, The Dark Knight) has joined the cast as a good guy with a babyface. The filthy survivor assists Evelyn and her children in escaping the aliens in the trailer before teasing a dangerous world beyond whatever cowshed (or whatever) they appear to be hiding in.
According to the trailer, A Quiet Place: Part II will stick to the tried-and-true formula of its predecessor. The concept was well-received by horror fans, and it appears that Evelyn and the children will be travelling across the country in search of safety in the sequel. The rule of law has collapsed, as Cillian Murphy’s character warned, and not everyone they meet will want to help.
In Part II, there are more than monsters to beware of… On May 28, 2021, a sequel to ‘A Quiet Place’ will be released in theatres.
