Cobra is an upcoming Tamil suspense thriller releasing on March 16, 2021. The movie is directed by R. Ajay Gnanamuthu. It is bankrolled by S.S Lalit Kumar under the banner of Seven Screen Studios.
This film spots the Tamil debut of KGF movie star Srinidhi Shetty and the film debut of former cricketer Irfan Pathan. The fast bowler Irfan Pathan plays the role of a Turkish Interpol officer in the film.
The teaser of this big-budget film was released in January and it got 16 million views. Chiyaan Vikram starrer Cobra is said to be an inspiration from a powerful Mahabharat character Karna.
As the poster dictates, Vikram will be seen in seven different looks in the movie. Having watched the teaser fans remember Vikram’s performance in ‘Anniyan’.The shooting of the film is done in extreme climates of different countries like Russia and Moscow.
Last year in March the crew of the film was shooting in Russia but they were sent back due to the Covid Pandemic reasons. The director had to wait till December when they resume the shoot in Chennai. AR Rahman has given music in this film.
