Jenner Furst and Julia Willoughby Nason are back at it again with a new four-part documentary based on the Lularoe pyramid scheme scam. The duo is known for shooting the documentary ‘Fyre Fraud’ a crime comedy documentary, ‘The Pharmacist’ and ‘Time: The Kalief Browder Story.
The documentary features ex-employees and surprisingly the co-owners of Lularoe, DeAnne and Mark Stidham and is shot in contrast to the lawsuit against the company deposed by the State of Washington. The documentary indulges in examining how LulaRoe began as a multi-level marketing scam and still manages to exist in the same form. The company started off with hiring women who sold leggings to one another and making them sign up new retailers beneath them, all of which took place on Facebook.
“LuLaRich” is a production of Amazon Studios; Story Force Entertainment; and The Cinemart, the production company started by Furst, Nason and Mike Gasparro, which will release on the OTT platform on the tenth of September.
