Margaret Qualley starrer Maid, a Netflix’s upcoming dramedy series, will be releasing on October 1. The series is an adaptation by New York Times Best-Selling Memoir was originally entitled Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive, written by Stephanie Land.
The women-centric film is a real life-based story of the author. The plot revolves around Alex, an educated lady who left her tormenting and violent life at home. The homelessness, poverty, and bureaucracy propose to do a job of housekeeping.
As we all know, Land conceives her first child in her late twenties. The struggle for Alex remains the same. Suffering from PTSD to reliving her life with a child bring more challenges. Adding on that, she has to fight for her kid’s legal custody against the father. It is the journey of a mother who is a maid, suffers a breakdown, struggles and humiliation.
The executive producer, showrunner Molly Smith Metzler confesses that he directed this movie with a funny POV, another insight into Alex’s unfiltered experience of love and laughter with her child. The cast is Nick Robinson, Anika Noni Rose, Andie MacDowell, Tracy Vilar, Billy Burke.
