The film, which is based on the classic mythology The Romance Of The Gods, had its Chinese premiere on February 12 and grossed $21.3 million over the weekend. It has made over $36 million in the market so far. Outside of China, Netflix has acquired exclusive global streaming rights.

The film is set in the mythical Donghai City, a melting pot where gods and people from various cultures coexist. It is produced by Alibaba Pictures and animated by Light Chaser Animation Studios. 3000 years after the original Battle of the Gods, Nezha is reborn as Li Yunxiang, a young daredevil.

Yunxiang grows up to be a normal, cool kid who works as a delivery courier. Even as he discovers his true identity as Nezha, he retains his passion for motor racing and adventure. He runs into his mortal enemies, the Dragon Clan, who are now super-wealthy businessmen in Donghai City, feared and revered.

The Patriarch of the Dragon Clan, Boss De, the Dragon King of the East China Sea, vows to resurrect the Dragon Clan in the new world. He is accompanied by his three sons, The Three Princes, who are out to avenge their clan by killing Nezha.
