Raksha Bandhan is an upcoming Indian – Hindi language comedy-drama film. Aanand L. Rai is the director of the film. Further, Zee Studios, Color Yellow Productions, and Cape of Goor films are the promoters of the film. It is written by Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon.
The story revolves around the love, bond, and attachment between siblings. Raksha Bandhan stars Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles. The iteration cast includes Sahejmaan Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Sadia Khateeb, and Smruthi Srikanth play the role of Akshay Kumar’s sisters. Anand L. Rai is also the co-writer of the movie. Kanika Dhillon has also co-written the screenplay.
The film was officially announced on 3 August 2020 on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. It is the fastest film that he has signed in his career. To clarify, he dedicated this film to his sister Alka Hiranandani. Akshay Kumar is playing the lead role in the film. As a result, this is his second collaboration with Rai post ‘Atrangi Re’.
On June 9, 2021, Akshay reveals that Bhumi Pednekar will be the female lead. On 21st June, they started shooting the film. During which, they made the announcement of the entire cast of the film. The cast includes Sahejmaan Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Sadia Khateeb, and Smrithi Srikanth. The film is going to be theatrically released on 11th August 2022.
