Netflix’s Rebecca, directed by Ben Wheatley (High Rise, Free Fire) and produced by Working Title Films (Emma, Darkest Hour)., is an adaptation of Daphne du Maurier’s novel of the same name, but it’s also a remake of Alfred Hitchcock’s Oscar-winning 1940 feature-film version of the story.
The psychological thriller set in an eerie manner in England of a bygone era sees Lily James and Armie Hamer bring the newlywed characters, who are locked in a complicated and uneasy romance, to life. The cast also features Anna Dowd, Tom Good mall-Hill, John Hollingworth, Mark Lewis Jones and Bill Paterson in various roles.
