Shamshera is an Upcoming Hindi Language Film. The story of the film is written by Aditya Chopra while the screenplay was done by Karan Malhotra and Ekta Pathak Malhotra.

The film is directed by Karan Malhotra and produced by Aditya Chopra under the banners of Yash Raj Films. The film features Ranbir Kapoor (who plays a double role), Vani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in the main lead along with Ronit Roy and Iravati Harshe in supporting characters. The music of the film was composed by Ajay Atul.

The film is an action drama and the story is about a dacoit tribe who took charge in the fight for their rights and independence against the British in the 1800s.

Shamshera was initially scheduled to release worldwide in cinemas on 31st July 2020, However, the film held back due to the COVID-19 pandemic delays in its VFX work and post-production work. After the government revoke the lockdown rules, the Makers of the film announced on 17th February 2021, a new release date for the film and that is 25th June 2021.
