Vaathi is an upcoming action drama film written and directed by Venky Atluri. It is shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu languages, the latter titled Sir. Based on the life of a young man and his struggles against the privatization of education. Produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, stars Dhanush and Samyuktha Menon.
In the Telugu version, many changes were made such as the main character’s name being changed to Bala Gangadhar Tilak and the school name being changed to Tirupati Educational Institute. Produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya, Cinematography by J. Yuvaraj, Edited by Naveen Nooli, Music by G. V. Prakash Kumar, Distributed by Red Giant Movies/Seven Screen Studio (Tamil Nadu), Pen Studios (North India), Friday Film House (Kerala), PVP Cinema (Andhra Pradesh).
The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on 17 February 2023.
