This first trailer looks like a cross between Jason Statham’s revenge-driven action films and Guy Ritchie’s involvement in organized crime.
The Wrath of Man trailer, which is set to a slowed-down version of Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues,” shows Statham taking out armoured truck robbers with terrifying precision and strength, and apparently scaring the crap out of Post Malone.
In the wake of Black Widow’s transfer to May 7, Miramax and distributor United Artists Releasing revealed that Wrath of Man would be pushed back to May 7 only days after Collider heard that it would be released on April 23.
It will now be released just one week before Lionsgate releases Spiral: From the Book of Saw, a horror film starring Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson. On May 7, Wrath of Man will be released in theatres.
During a heist, a mysterious and wild-eyed new cash truck security guard (Jason Statham) surprises his coworkers by displaying unexpected precision skills. The rest of the crew has no idea who he is or where he came from. As he takes dramatic and irreversible steps to settle a score, the marksman’s true motivation becomes clear.
