Actor Sonam Kapoor and her sister producer and stylist Rhea Kapoor can be given the credit for changing the entire Hindi film industry’s fashion perspective, single-handedly. Sonam rang in her 36th birthday today, on the 9th of June, and birthday wishes are flowing her way from all around the world.
On this special occasion, members of her family, and her industry peers, have all taken to Instagram, to shower their love on the ‘Veere Di Wedding’ actress. Anand Ahuja, her husband shared a photo that featured all her friends and family members and penned a sweet note.
Her father, Anil Kapoor shared photographs of Sonam, and wrote that Sonam is his “confidante, joy, pride.” Her sister Rhea Kapoor, and Rhea’s boyfriend Karan Boolani also posted birthday wishes for Sonam. Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Anshula Kapoor, Jahnvi Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, Swara Bhasker, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anushka Sharma, Karan Johar, Katrina Kaif, Shilpa Shetty, Shahid Kapoor were among the people who wished the birthday girl.
Sonam debuted in films, with the 2007 released ‘Saawariya’ directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film did not do wonders at the box office. But its lead pair Sonam Kapoor-Ranbir Kapoor, got instant validation from fans and industry, alike. Sonam Kapoor was last seen in a cameo in her father’s film ‘AK vs AK’. She will be next seen in the crime thriller titled ‘Blind’, directed by Shome Makhija.
The film is the Hindi remake of a Korean film of the same name and also has Vinay Pathak, Purab Kohli and Lillete Dubey in pivotal roles. She married businessman Anand Ahuja on 8th May 2018, in a traditional Sikh ceremony. She is also an active supporter of LGBTQ rights, and breast cancer awareness.
