THE PERMITS DURING LOCKDOWN IN INDIA “The corona fallout”, a big panic word these days. The situation of avoiding the deadly crises is the main concern for the people right now but what about the people who are standing like a working mannequin day and night just to provide security and basic supplies of general amenities.
India is on the door step to enter the third stage of this deadly virus yet this civil permits are standing and working without any gripe and are present on their respective duties without any lament. In the situation where India is scrambling to escape the corona crises these civilians are out or working through digital parameters the outbreak has been declared as pandemic and declared epidemic in more than a dozen states and union territories.
On march 22nd 2020 India observed a 14 hour public curfew at the instance of prime minister Narendra Modi the government then followed this up with nationwide lockdown for 21 days affecting the entire 1.3 billion population. In all this sudden hustle a huge and relevant part is being played by the bureaucrats and other civilians.
These people are being provided with protective masks and sanitizers ,they are providing door to door services to citizens and providing them goods for their essential needs like groceries and medicines. Taking the example of the state Punjab where there is a strict curfew going on these civilians or government permits are stopping people to put a step outside their house and are helping the locals to prevent the corona outbreak. The rag pickers ‘the bin cleaners or the trash cleaners the police force and the commandos are on present on their respective duties.
The central ministry is opting for work from home policy. Several ministries are moving to the 10 am to 5 pm working hours and even beyond. The clear cut work from home protocol is requiring all officers to fix targets and specify work for their coaches or subordinates over e mail or at e office ,this is helping the civilians to manage the nations policy and observe the current situation through e office by listing out tasks through videoconferencing or emails and disposing of the files at the end of the day.
The civilians and ministries are on full throttle work mode be it from home or by standing out for the public services.the challenge of a large country like India with overcrowding is that some people will always slip the net , wherever you put it but to control this slip civilians are out on their duties working beyond their respective working hours.
The helpers and the civilians taking care of the isolated people or those who are out on their duties are at a major risk of being attacked by this deadly virus yet they are working day and night for the public welfare risking their lives and are just expecting for the public participation and support and nothing else.
The civilians are helping doctors by making the patient reach them safely and with cooperation.all the government permits like doctors ,nurses, police force ,and other bureaucrats are helping each other in a uniform pattern to control the deadly viral outbreak. They are being provided with the facilities by the government under the order of health ministry with an increase in their wage and basic hygiene facilities like face masks ,sanitizers and protective or surgical gloves.
If we are safe and sound it is because of these people appointed by the ministries and government who are risking their lives just so that we all safe and sound in our respective places.
The cleaners, the trash pickers are at the major risk of being attacked by the virus yet they are working and helping the community. The community is safe because of all these government permitted officials and servants.
