India’s FMCG industries have launched new products for home and personal hygiene

Big consumer good companies like ITC, Dabur, Marico and Godrej had produced more than three dozen health and hygienic products. They produced to spread awareness and these products could have such a high demand due to Covid-19 fear.
Most companies produced hand sanitizers, surface and floor cleaner and disinfectant sprays for immunity building.

Mohit Malhotra, chief executive officer, Dabur India launched a new product for immunity growth, juices etc.. he said “With the spread of the pandemic, there was growing need for such quality immunity building and hygiene products from consumers. A number of these initiatives were already in the pipeline need gap in the market.”

According to Nielsen, handwash production got higher 60% in March. Floor cleaner production got higher 24% in March. Hand sanitizer’s got the most production of 340% in March.
Sameer Satpathy, chief executive at ITC said “The innovative teams in ITC are identifying these unmet needs and racing against time to craft effective and innovative products in the health and hygiene space to serve these requirement.”

In fact, Saugata Gupta, chief executive at Marico also said that “The health, hygiene and immunity market will expand tremendously. The share of wallet will move from eating out and travel to these products.”
This can increase the competition between the companies who is producing new products in the market for spreading awareness for Covid-19.
