IRCTC bookings open, Check here for everything you need to know: train, routes, timings

Online bookings have started on IRCTC. The trains will resume till tomorrow. The services were stopped since March 22. 15 trains have been scheduled from New Delhi to other cities of India. The pandemic has altered the way railways used to operate. Online bookings only available, wearing masks all the time. The operation will start on 12th May 2020. Trains will work in 15 pairs or 30 journeys in a day.

Online bookings were started at 4 pm. But there are technical glitches due to heavy traffic on the site. That’s why the booking timing was delayed. “Booking for 15 special trains delayed by two hours, will begin at 6 PM now,” railways said.

Maximum Advance Reservation Period (ARP) will be of not more than seven (7) days, the ministry said in a statement. No booking will be done through ‘agents’. No waiting list ticket or onboard ticket shall be permitted. Only confirmed seats will be allowed. The 15 important cities of the country such as Dibrugarh, Agartala, Howrah, Patna, Bilaspur, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Secunderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Madgaon, Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad and Jammu Tawi will be connected to Delhi.

All passenger trains will be run with AC coaches only and with limited stoppages. The fare will be equivalent to the ticket fare that is charged for Rajdhani Train. The screening will be done during departures. Provision for prepaid meal booking, e-catering will not be working. However, IRCTC shall make provision for limited eatables and packaged drinking water on payment basis. Precise information about this will be available during booking. Dry, ready-to-eat food and bottled water can be bought inside the train.
