Calling the application “vague” the court said Ranaut was not observant enough to mention all details and that she also did not include the authorities as a party. The court posted the hearing in the matter on June 25. A bench of justices Varale and Surendra Tavade asked her lawyer for the refusal order. He responded by saying that the passport authority had raised a verbal objection to Ms. Ranaut’s passport renewal application.

Last year, the Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court at Bandra had ordered an investigation into a complaint filed by Munawwar Ali, a fitness trainer, which referred to tweets and statements by Kangana and her sister defaming Bollywood and spreading division and hatred between the communities.

On the direction of court, the police registered an FIR against Kangana and her sister under section 153A, 295A and 124A. When Bench came to know that it was only a film shoot for which she was getting her passport renewal so it could be adjusted and the date of hearing posted on June 25.
