With the escalation of the farmer protests in the country, it can be seen that the impact of the agitation is reaching to lives of actors. Using their democratic right to freedom of speech and expression, different actors are speaking up in solidarity with the farmers and there are other actors who are also presenting their views with respect to the “Indian Farmers Protest- 2020“.
In one such case, a rough exchange of thoughts happened between Punjabi actress Himanshi Khurana (who recently celebrated her birthday on 27 November), and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, after which Kangana Ranaut blocked Himanshi Khurana on Twitter. This came to light when Himanshi Khurana took to her Instagram to share that Kangana Ranaut has blocked her on Twitter.
Earlier (some five days ago), Kangana Ranaut had shared a video on Twitter, from the set of upcoming movie Thalaivi, where she was thankful to the court in regard to the demolition case. It was in reference to this video that Himanshi Khurana replied to her, ” You are thankful for saving your home but when other people try saving their homes, they are wrong. Everybody doesn’t have VIP Links”.
Later, Himanshi Khurana even took to her Twitter Handle to support the old grandmother who wanted to take part in the farmer protests. She used the hashtags, #shamelesskangna #kisaanmazdoorektaZindabaad. It seems that all this stuff didn’t go well with Kangana Ranaut who blocked Himanshi on Twitter later.
No doubt, dissent is the soul of democracy. Let’s wait to see how things will form in future with respect to farmer protests.
