Mamta Banerjee asks railway ministry not to send any Shramik special trains till May 26 in the view of cyclone Amphan

West Bengal chief minister, Mamta Banerjee has asked the railway ministry not to send the Shramik trains to the state till May 26 due to the Cyclone Amphan. A letter from West Bengal chief secretary Rajiv Sinha to the chairman of railway board V K Yadav dated 22nd may say that the state has been severely impacted by the cyclone on May 20-21 that has damaged the infrastructures severely.

The ministers in the district have involved themselves in the rehabilitation work and to provide relief to the people who suffered in the adverse situation it seems impossible to receive the special Shramik trains for the next few days as the attention of the majority of the officials and employees has now been diverted to rehabilitate and provide relief to the whole situation sufferers. “ it is, therefore, requested that no trains should be sent to West Bengal till may 26” said Mamta Banerjee, chief minister of West Bengal.
