New Zealand to lift all the Covid-19 restrictions from the country

New Zealand’s prime minister Jacinda Ardern has announced lifting all the restrictions of COVID 19 from the country, in wellington, except
border control. New Zealand will be the first country of the south pacific nation to do so. Ardern, On 25 March, locked down the country for four weeks. And from today’s midnight country will be back on its normal path by dropping all the restrictions of COVID19.

New Zealand has no active cases of COVID-19 in the country now, the country’s Health Ministry said during a statement on Monday. The
government will leave social distancing restrictions from midnight on Monday. Ardern said. We are confident we have eliminated the transmission of the virus in New Zealand for now,” she said during a televised address, saying Kiwis had “united in unprecedented ways to
crush the virus”.

There will be no restrictions on gatherings, but borders will remain closed.

New Zealand has reported no new Covid-19 cases for 17 days.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern told reporters she did “a little dance” when she was told the country not had any active virus cases. “While we’re during a safer, stronger position there’s still no easy path back to pre-Covid life, but the determination and focus we’ve had on our
health response will now be vested in our economic rebuild,” she said.

While the work isn’t done, there’s no denying this is often a milestone. So can I finish with a really simple ‘Thank you, New Zealand.'”

All schools and workplaces will be open. Weddings, funerals and public transport are going to be ready to resume with none restrictions.
Social distancing will be no longer required but will still be encouraged.

However, all New Zealanders arriving from abroad will still have to go through a 14-day period of isolation or quarantine. New Zealand has seen 1,154 confirmed cases and 22 deaths from Covid-19 since the virus arrived in late February but has been widely encouraged for its handling of the crisis.
