No pay for Spicejet pilots during April and May says Spicejet

SpiceJet on Wednesday told its pilots that they will not be paid salaries for April and May and said the individuals who have been working payload flights will get paid for “square hours flown”.

Spicejet’s flight operation chief Gurcharan Arora told to pilots through an email saying that, “they will not be getting any salary for April and May 2020. Those of us who have been flying cargo will get paid for the block hours flown…we are geared up and ready to appropriately increase our flights in harmony with the gradual lifting of flight restrictions by the government.”

Starting today, 16 per cent of our aeroplane and 20 per cent of our pilots are flying. In addition to this, over the coming weeks, we expect to build the quantity of aeroplane travelling to over half and the number of pilots travelling to 100%, added the chief.
Though, a week ago Indigo CEO informed the employees about the move back of pay cut and chose to give full play to the greater part of their workers according to the PM’s solicitation of not cutting salaries for employees.
