Oscar Ceremony gets postponed to 2021: Check here for the new date

The Academy Award is more popularly known as the Oscars are awards for the artistic and technical merit in the film industry. It is given annually and by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), the awards are international recognition of excellence in cinematic achievements, as assessed by the Academy’s voting membership.

The award was originally sculpted by George Stanley from a design sketch by Cedric Gibbons. AMPAS first presented it in 1929 which was known to be the 1st Academy Awards. It is the oldest worldwide entertainment awards ceremony and is now televised life worldwide. Earlier it was broadcasted by radio.

The 93rd Academy Awards were about to be held on 28th February 2021. Due to the pandemic which has caused the worldwide disruption, even the Oscar dates have been postponed by two months. This shows that the coronavirus has been the most devastating and affected each and every field. The release schedule of films have been affected and as a result, AMPAS has decided to postpone the Oscar Ceremony.

Earlier it was announced that the 93rd Academy Awards will be held at the end of the December 2020 but amid the pandemic, it has been extended to February 2021. Though it is noticed that situation is getting worse day-by-day so once again the dates for the Oscar Ceremony got postponed two months later and so the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that the ceremony will be held on 25th April 2021.
