Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has now announced that his film Sooryavanshi, starring Akshay Kumar, will release this Diwali. Shetty shared a picture with Uddhav Thackeray on Instagram and wrote, “Thanks to our Honourable Chief Minister, Shri Uddhav Thackeray, theatres in Maharashtra to reopen from 22nd October. And FINALLY!!! we can say, This DIWALI… AA RAHI HAI POLICE…”. The Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s office announced on Saturday that theatres in the state will reopen from 22nd October.
The film was going to be released in the year 2020. However, as soon as the wave of Corona came, there was a lockdown in the country and the release of the film was stopped. While many makers released their films on OTT, Rohit Shetty was not ready for it. He decided that his film ‘Sooryavanshi’ would be released whenever the theatres opened. The film world has got a lot of happiness from this decision of CM Thackeray. Khiladi Kumar i.e. Akshay Kumar has also thanked the Chief Minister’s decision in a post. He wrote, ‘So many families will thank Shri Uddhav Thackeray today. We are grateful to him for allowing the reopening of cinema halls in Maharashtra from 22nd October. The police are coming.
