In a time and age, when the entire entertainment industry is all about PR and image building, it takes guts and gumption for a woman, in the public domain, to admit to a medical complication, like endometriosis, which is a disorder in which tissue, that normally lines the uterus, grows outside the uterus. Sumona Chakravarti, took social media by storm, over the weekend, when she opened up about dealing with stage 4 endometriosis.
In her post, she also stated how lockdown which has resulted in unemployment, has taken a toll on her mental health. Announcing her medical condition, Sumona had shared a workout photo, and also mentioned how she was feeling guilty, because boredom was a privilege to hear.
After her Instagram post, she garnered wide praise from her fans, who flooded her with messages of strength and best wishes. On Sunday, Sumona thanked them for the sweet messages and even shared an update on her health.
Most recently, Sumona was seen on The Kapil Sharma Show as one of the cast members. The show went off the air earlier this year after host Kapil Sharma welcomed his second child with wife Ginni Chatrath, and decided to take a paternity break.
