TV heartthrob Devoleena Bhattacharjee steps in to help in COVID-19 fight, adopts 2 families for a month

While celebrities from all around the world are coming forward to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic by donating to various funds and connecting to their fans, the well-known Indian TV actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee has also stepped in the fight against this pandemic.

Devoleena Bhattacharjee has adopted two underprivileged families during COVID-19 pandemic. The former Big Boss contestant has adopted these two families for a month to support them during these difficult times, according to reports.

Devoleena Bhattacharjee was last seen on Bigg Boss 13, but had to quit the show due to an injury. The actress shot to popularity after playing the role of Gopi bahu for 6 years in Saath Nibhaana Saathiya.

A fan shared a screenshot of Devoleena’s donation and wrote on Twitter, “Thank youuuu so much @Devoleena_23 for Adopting 2 families for 1 month Nd Donating Money for Thier food & groceries …This will be the best bihu gift for your Assam fans God bless you @Devoleena_23.”

The screenshot shows Devoleena donated Rs 4400 to Akshay Patra Foundation to help two families who have daily wage workers as their primary earning members.
Recently, Devoleena had also helped a pregnant woman who was in need of a rare blood group which was very hard to get during the lockdown. One of her fans came up as a donor and walked 10 Kms, just to donate his blood. He reached on time and the pregnant woman gave birth to a baby girl. The whole family was very grateful to her for helping them in their time of need.

It is especially heartwarming to see that people with resources have not been shy in extending a helping hand during these troubling times. By spreading awareness through their social media, by donating to funds and NGOs. Acts like these give us hope that we will get through this together.
