An office guard who was posted to the Health Minister Dr.Harsh Vardhan’s officer on special duty(OSD) tested positive for COVID-19, on Saturday. He was posted in the teaching block of the Minister’s office in AIIMS, Delhi. The OSD has been quarantined and his office shut.
The OSD office and its premises are being sanitized periodically.
Also, the OSD and other staff members are being asked to undergo self-quarantine. Their samples have also been taken for testing.
Not only this, but there are also cases of guards being affected at other hospitals too.
AIIMS officials declared that a nurse working at Dr BR Ambedkar Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital of the AIIMS facility has tested positive too.
A nurse who has been deployed at the daycare facility of Cancer centre put her two children in a creche; they were found to be tested positive for the virus.
The contacts identification started on Saturday and everyone Contact tracing was initiated at the facility on Sunday and all those who have come in contact with the security guard and the nurse have been advised self-quarantine. Further contact tracing is on.
Patients who had come for chemotherapy on Saturday at the daycare facility along with healthcare staff at the hospital who had come in contact with her have been advised self-quarantine.
A few other working has also tested positive. Two from the record section, a lab attendant, a persona assistant of a faculty at the Cardio-Neuro Center, a male nurse working in the gastroenterology department were affected. The close contacts have been advised self-quarantine.
The contacts of the male nurse luckily tested negative and hence the department is fully functional.
Also, two female nurses, one each from the Cardiology Department and the Trauma Center of AIIMS. The child and husband of the nurse posted at the Trauma Center tested positive too.
