Unrest rises over the death of teenage girl in West Bengal, police say no sign of sexual assault

Violence erupted in people of West Bengal on Sunday over the death of a teenage girl. The incident took place in Uttar Dinajpur, district of West Bengal where the locals have alleged that the girl was raped and killed.

“Locals hold protest, block road and set police vehicles & public buses on fire against an alleged gang-rape & murder of a girl in Kalagachh in Uttar Dinajpur. Heavy security deployed at the site”, said West Bengal Police.

The situation went so worse in the area that the police used Tear Gas shells to eliminate the crowd. A large number of police officers were deployed to control the situation at the site to contain the protestors. It is also reported that the protestors attacked the police with bricks and stones.

According to a News Channel, the sister of deceased said that she had just cleared her Class 10th board examinations last week and went missing from Saturday night. It is reported that her body was found under a tree where some mobile phones were also recovered.

West Bengal police have cleared that the postmortem report of the deceased has been done and the cause of the death is “effect of poison”. No injury marks were found on the body and there were no sexual signs. No physical or sexual signs were found on the body.
