With the country in lockdown for almost two months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli gave his fans and followers a big morale boost and something to cheer about as he was seen doing laps in an open area in their society complex on Friday.
Virat Kohli took to Instagram and Twitter to post a one-minute video in which 31 years old can be seen running. He captioned the post as, “Putting in the work is a way of life and not a requirement of the profession. The choice is yours.” The video on Kohli’s Instagram account has so
far garnered over 1.8 million likes.
Kohli’s teammates including Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav and Wriddhiman Saha appreciated the skipper’s workout session. Due to the virus, all cricket matches have been suspended. India is set to extend the lockdown period but most of the restrictions are likely to be lifted and Indian cricketers may soon return to training.
Earlier, during the lockdown, Kohli engaged himself in chatting with various team members from IPL, Indian team and veteran cricketers like Kevin Pietersen on Instagram Live sessions. Kohli had declared in the live chat session that he has no intention of leaving the black and maroon franchise. “Till the time I play IPL, regardless of how we play, I’ll never leave this team,” said Kohli.
He also made coronavirus awareness videos along with his wife Anushka Sharma. Meanwhile, Kohli also said that he found his silver lining as due to the lockdown he and Anushka have been spending a lot of time together which might be the longest time they
have spent together till date.
