Sanjay Dutt is playing the role of Ranchod Das Pagi in Bhuj The Pride of India. Ranchoddas helped the Indian Army in the War of 1965 and 1971.
In the 1965 war, the Pakistani army attacked from the Vidkot border located on the Kutch border of Gujarat. Ranchod Das Pagi was well versed in every corner of this area. His speciality was that he knew and understood the footprints very well. Not only this, seeing the footprints, they used to tell how many people were riding on the camel. Apart from this, from the footprints, they used to tell the age of the person and how much weight they have lifted.
Ranchod Das Pagi, due to his merit, had found 1200 Pakistanis hiding in Kutch. Apart from 1965, he also helped the Indian Army in the 1971 war. The then Army Chief SFMJ Manekshaw also praised his work. Ranchod Das passed away in 2013 at the age of 113. After his death, the BSF border of Suigam was renamed as Ranchod Das Border.
Ranchod Das Pagi was also given the President’s Award for his help in the Indo-Pakistani War. Apart from this, his courage is sung by Rajbha Gadhvi in his Ranbanko Rabari folk song.
Let us tell you that Sanjay Dutt’s character in the film Bhuj The Pride of India has been named Ranchod Rabri. Apart from Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi, Praneeta Subhash and Sharad Kelkar are in important roles in the film.
