Makalika Arora got married to Arbaaz Khan on 12th December 1998. However, things between the couple did not work out between them and it lead to a divorce in the year 2017. In the recent episode of ‘Moving in with Malaika’, she revealed the real reason why she married him.
She revealed that she was the one who proposed to Arbaaz and not the other way around. She further said that she only married him as she wanted to ‘get out of the house’. Addressing the reason, she said, “I was very young. I also changed. I wanted different things in life. And I think actually today we are better people”. During the release of Dabangg, she said that the two drifted apart and became very irritable people. They started having compatibility issues.
Some reports suggest that Arbaaz’s family were the reason for the divorce. They wanted Malaika to give up her career and lead a domestic life. She revealed that it was a tough decision to take a divorce and her family was also not supportive of her. However, she chose her happiness over everything else.
