39 staff held under self quarantine at Max Hospital in Delhi

39 staff members have been asked to self quarantine themselves at Max Hospital in Delhi’s Saket area after two patients tested positive for COVID-19. They include doctors, nurses, ward boys and other workers who came in close proximity with the two infected patients. They have been isolated and kept in a separate ward in the hospital itself.

It has been reported by the hospital that the two patients who have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus were admitted for their cardiac treatment. The group of 39 staff who came in contact with them will undergo a test tomorrow (14/04/20) i.e. five days since they have been exposed to the virus, although all of them are asymptomatic.
Almost 150 healthcare workers have been assigned duties in shifts in the COVID ward, yet none of them has any exposure to it.

A similar incident took place in AIIMS, Delhi when a 72 year old man with brain stroke symptoms turned up in the Emergency and was later tested corona positive. 30 employees which included doctors, nurses and other technicians were recommended to self quarantine themselves for the next 14 days.
Delhi has seen a surge in the number of active cases of COVID-19 and has been declared a hotspot with 1154 victims and 24 deaths till date.
