So the wait is finally over! After shooting since October 2020, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubaj Kathiawadi was postponed due to the ongoing pandemic.
On the first day of 2021, the production house announced on the Instagram channel @bhansaliproductions that this movie is ready for release in 2021.
A short video was shared in which Alia Bhatt can be seen and the poster reads “The Reign Begins”. This can be seen as a way of wishing the followers a Happy New Year!
The post was captioned “Brave, bold and ready to take over 2021With fire in her eyes and fierceness as her style,#GangubaiKathiawadi awaits to reign over the coming year” followed by a New Year wish. Alia’s look surely envisages all the qualities enlisted!!
The movie is of biography-crime genre based on a Gujarati brothel owner(title & protagonist). As per the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai(S Hussain Zaidi), Gangubai was a prostitute. Fans are much excited to see how Alia Bhatt graces this role and hope the release is no more postponed.
