Army Chief General Manoj Mukund visits Ladakh after disputes over LAC intensity

Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane visited Leh, for security review in headquarters of 14 corps in Ladakh. This security review was because of the tension between India and China. Later on, he returned to Delhi the other day.

He visited after the Indian rejected China’s allegation that Indian troops initiated this problem across the border.

Soldiers on both sides are showing efforts were underway is diminished.

A spokesperson of Government gave a statement that “Any Suggestion that Indian troops had undertaken activity across the LAC in the western sector or the Sikkim sector is not accurate.”

General Naravane said to the media that, “ I wanted to visit Siachen soon after taking over. I would like to convey my best wishes and greetings for the New Year. Its always been my intention to come here on taking over but the weather was not very good in the first week of January. But, I’m happy that this is my first visit as the Chief of Army Staff.”

He also added that “We are doing our best to make sure that whatever is required by the troops is made available to them including clothing and better rations.”

General also took over the head of 1.2 million force on December 2019, following the General Bipin Rawat’s elevation as India’s first chief of Defense Staff.
