Varun Dhawan mourns his Masi’s death, friends and celebs from the industry pay their condolence

Actor Varun Dhawan’s aunt (masi) passed away today. Varun took to Instagram to share the sad news. He posted an unseen picture from the good old days with his masi and wrote “Love you masi rip” followed by Gayatri Mantra.

From the picture, it seems that Varun was very close to her masi and also, his masi resembles so much like his mother. A few days back the actor revealed that someone very close in the family has been tested positive, with that he wrote, “It’s very close to home right now. Until it happens to someone you know, you don’t take it seriously and understand the gravity of it.”

Many fans and friends from the industry paid condolences to the family’s loss. Sonam Kapoor wrote, “Omg I’m so so sorry vd” while Nushrat Bharucha commented, “My god! So sorry Varun!! Deepest condolences”. Actress Sonal Chauhan commented, “So sorry for your loss Varun. May her soul rest in peace.” Sophie Choudry also paid her condolence and wrote, “So sorry for your loss VD. Love and prayers to the family. May her soul RIP.”

Varun Dhawan also stepped forward to help the corona affected people among other Bollywood celebrities. He provided meals to the jobless and needy people. He also provided food to the medical staff in the hospital. Sharing photos on social media he wrote, “With each passing day of being locked down at home, my heart goes out to all those who have no home at this time of crises. And so, this week I’ve committed to providing meals for the poor who are without homes or jobs.”

On the work front, Varun Dhawan’s last movie was Street Dancer 3D, co-starring Shraddha Kapoor and Nora Fatehi in lead roles. Next up, he will be seen in Coolie No. 1 directed by his father, David Dhawan starring Sara Ali Khan in the female lead role.
