BMS reports to NGT about the gas leak in Vizag says, ‘No precautions were taken by the company’

On 7th April in Vishakhapatnam, LG Polymers, a chemical company had a gas leak which killed 11 people and more than 300 were hospitalized and more than 1000 were evacuated. Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) submitted this report to National Green Tribunal (NGT).

This report says that the company didn’t take any emergency precaution or use an alarm to alert the people. Mannava Sravan, BMS President in Andhra Pradesh said that it was village who told about this leakage to authorities. 11 people were killed in this incident, and more than 300 were hospitalized at 3 AM on Thursday.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has demanded the NGT to ask the company how many workers were working during this incident, as there is no information about it.
Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has announced 1 crore each as a relief to people whose family people were killed in this incident.
