BSNL extends free broadband ‘work@home’ service till June 20

State-owned telecom sector Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited announced the extension of its ‘Work@Home’ plans till 20 June. The BSNL landline users can avail this free broadband plan.

Earlier, the first phase of lockdown was followed by extension of the validity till May 19. Now the extension has been done till the fourth phase of lockdown is over in the view to keep the users at home by providing high-speed internet services, during the outbreak of coronavirus.

This was posted by the BSNL Chennai team. The ‘work@home’ broadband plan offers 5GB of data per day to all users at a speed of 10Mbps. Once the 5GB is exhausted the connection speed drops to 1Mbps. The new offer is valid for BSNL’s “existing landline customers who have not experienced BSNL high broadband service.”

The access is given by just plugging in the modem. There are no additional installation charges and security deposits. Just, the customers should have modem or customer premise equipment (CPE) beforehand to make the services accessible. Customers can dial 1800-345-1504 to get assistance with the setup.

“After expiry of the promotional period, existing customers under the above plan shall be migrated to regular Broadband plans,” the circular stated.
