CM Arvind Kejriwal thanks Centre for providing rapid test kits to Delhi government

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday stated that 20,000 people are being tested daily for identifying coronavirus patients and a number of hospital beds have also been increased in last week. One day earlier, Kejriwal has said that recent surge in coronavirus cases in Delhi is caused by a significant increase in testing.

While addressing a press conference, he said that Delhi has received more hospital beds in last week and currently there are 13,500 beds in which patients have occupied 6,500 beds. He also thanked the centre for providing rapid test kits. He added that 4,000 oxygen concentrators have been bought for covid-19 patients.

As cases in Delhi is rising rapidly, it was concern that limited number of beds would not be enough for patients. Recently, Aam Aadmi Party had showed resistance over Delhi L-G Anil Baijal’s statement in which he had directed to allow coronavirus patients for only institutional quarantine instead of home quarantine. According to Aam Aadmi Party, it will cause shortage of beds in hospitals.
