Hirdesh Singh professionally known as Yo Yo Honey Singh or simply Honey Singh, is an Indian music producer, composer, rapper, pop singer, lyricist and film actor. Regardless of what he achieved, recently Delhi Court Tuesday issued notice to Bollywood Singer and Actor Honey Singh. A domestic violence case was filed against him by his wife, Shalini Talwar. No one is above the law. Surprised to see how this case is being taken so lightly,” metropolitan magistrate Tania Singh said. Honey Singh gave the excuse of medical conditions for exemption for appearance in the case. “We will submit medical records and income tax returns at the earliest,” said Honey Singh’s counsel.
Showing resentment, the court told Singh’s lawyer, “Honey Singh has not appeared. You have not filed his income affidavit and are not prepared with the arguments.” Shalini 38-year-old woman claimed that she was subjected to numerous incidents of physical-, verbal-, mental- and emotional abuse by his husband as well as his family. Shalini Talwar also sought ₹10 crore compensation under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, saying she felt like a “farm animal…being treated cruelly” against her husband.
Yo-Yo Honey Singh has said that Talwar’s allegations are “false and malicious” and “severely odious“. “I have never issued a public statement or press note in the past despite being subjected to harsh criticism for my lyrics, speculation on my health and negative media coverage in general. However, I see no merit in maintaining a studied silence this time because some of the allegations have been directed at my family – my old parents and younger sister – who have stood by me during some very difficult and trying times and comprise my world. The allegations are cynical and defaming in nature,” he said in a statement on Instagram.
