Delhi’s CM Kejriwal says, ‘the state government is 4 steps ahead of Coronavirus’.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has urged the residents of the state not to be afraid of the rising number of coronavirus cases as they are four steps ahead of the deadly pathogen.

He stated, “It is a matter of concern but it is nothing to be scared of. I assure you that your government is four steps ahead of coronavirus”.

Kejriwal highlighted that India cannot sustain a permanent lockdown. The country is already under its the fourth phase of nationwide lockdown till May 31.

Delhi has reported 17,386 COVID-19 cases till now with 398 fatalities. The CM notified that out of the total affected by the novel coronavirus, only 2100 are admitted in the hospital. He affirmed 6500 beds have been made ready and 9500 beds will be set up in the coming week.

“Most of the people are recovering, and they are recovering at home. There is no need to panic”, Kejriwal added.

Five hotels will be extensively used as COVID hospitals for those showing mild symptoms. They include JW Marriott, Le Meridien and IBIS.

Delhi saw a spike in the cases on Thursday crossing the 1000 mark on a single day for the first time.

Delhi Health Minister Satyender Jain said that the state government was “fully geared up” to tackle 1000 cases a day.

The Kejriwal government aired a video clip on the news channels to make sure the asymptomatic patients don’t take fright and remain home quarantined instead of standing firm on getting admitted. They also issued a list of do’s and don’ts of home quarantine.
