The doctor is an Upcoming Tamil Language Film. The film is written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sivakarthikeyan under the banners of Sivakarthikeyan Productions and KJR Studios. The music of the film was composed by Anirudh Ravichander while the cinematography was performed by Vijay Kartik Kannan. The Editing of the film was handled by R. Nirmal.
The film features Sivakarthikeyan, Vinay Rai, Priyanka Arul Mohan and Yogi Babu in prominent roles along with Deepa Shankar, Redin Kingsley, Arun Alexander, Archana Chandhoke, Zaara Vineet and Illavarsu in supporting characters. The film was initially scheduled to be released in May 2020 but postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In November 2020, the makers announced for the theatrical release of the film will be in April 2021. Initially, for the 2021 release, the makers announced the film would be released on 26th March 2021 but held back due to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election taking place in April 2021. Later the makers announced that the film will be scheduled to release on Eid on 13th May 2021.
