The story begins on a light-hearted note, where a 12 grader Kunal tries to pursue his classmate Tara by flirting. When he is finally able to do it, Kunal proposes to Tara and their alluring love affair begins. Their life takes a shift from here as Kunal leaves Indore after he ends his school, to reserve admission in Naval College, Mumbai.

His sombre life gradually takes a toll from here when her girlfriend Tara dumped him and left him for someone else. Whilst all this, Kunal thought the only way to fill his void is by seeking to consume alcohol and becoming a chain smoker, refusing to enrol himself in Naval College.

For him the pain of forgetting Tara becomes insufferable and due to this, he resorts to land himself in a heavy-handed rundown room in Darukhana where all he does is smoke and drink in vain.
