Ponniyin Selvan Part 2 is a Tamil movie releasing on April 28, 2023. It is written by Jayamohan, Divya Prakesh Dubey and Mani Ratnam. It is directed by Mani Ratnam.
After the action started in the first part, with Ponniyin Selvan: In part two, Mani Ratnam dives into the heart of the novel. It is the ill-fated romance between Crown Prince Aadisa Karikaran (Vikram) and Nandini (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan). PS2 begins with a prelude that captures the childhood romance of the two, and the director explores the blossoming of love between a prince and an orphan girl and the heartache it leaves without saying too much in terms of dialogue. However, it is the climax that is overwhelmed more than that. Even Kalki’s book has too many twists and a rather understated ending, but here the authors (Mani Ratnam, Jeyamohan, and Kumaravel) wisely give us a more comfortable twist, but they cannot pack a punch. Arulmozhi is the last holding speech at the highest cost that makes him the titular hero of this epic epic.
