Directed and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, 2020’s romantic drama film ‘Shikara’ is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The film is a timeless love story that takes place in the most unfortunate of times. A story of a love that survives 30 years of exile, the epic saga stars newcomers Aadil Khan and Sadia playing the lead roles as Shiv and Shanti.
The story revolves around in 1990, 4 lakh Kashmiri Pandits (Hindus) were forced to leave their home under the threat of life. Till today, they continue to live as refugees in their own country, in small refugee camps in the city of Jammu sacred and helpless.
Shandilya, Rohit Kulkarni, and Abhay Sopori composed the music, and the lyrics were written by Irshad Kamil, Raqueeb Alam, and Bahir Arif. The reports say that in March 2018, the film was shot under the title “Love and Letters” in Kashmir by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. In an interview later, he also mentioned that almost entirely film was shot in Kashmir.
