First lady of India Savita Kovind stitched masks in Shakti Haat to be distributed in shelter homes

Wife of President Ram Nath Kovind, Savita Kovind, stitched face masks at Shakti
Haat to be distributed in the shelter homes of Delhi to fight against COVID 19.
The photo showcasing her went viral on 22 April 2020. The masks that she stitched
weer to be distributed by the Delhi Urban Shelter improvement board.

Since Savita Kovind was seen stitching masks for the shelter home people, the
internet has been flooding with her pictures where she has been sewing masks with
the sewing machine at Shakti Haat and she also covered her face with a red cloth as
she continued to make masks for the shelter homes.

The official account of BJP Karnataka on twitter posted the picture of her with the
caption” here is our first lady, Smt Savita Kovind stitching face masks to be
distributed at numerous shelters in New Delhi. Thank you amma for leading by
example”
The netizens said that this gesture of hers was inspirational in the comments section.
In order to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus, it has been made mandatory for
the people living in Uttar Pradesh, Maharastra, Delhi and West Bengal to wear
masks when they are outdoors.

It has been said by the World Health Organisation and the scientists to continue
practicing social distancing and more importantly, stay inside the houses to contain
the pandemic. They have recommended to wash hands with any soap at our homes
after regular intervals.

India is under lockdown completely after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced
on 14th of April that the lockdown will be extended till 3rd of may.
The number of cases in India for the coronavirus has passed 21,000 with the death
count ranging at 600 according to the data by officials.
